Pets – Pet Therapy and Visits
Pets can provide comfort and joy to our residents. Before any pet is permitted on the premises, approval must be obtained from the Hellenic Community Aged Care residents’ group and management.
Recognising the therapeutic benefits of pet interactions, we incorporate pet therapy into our Occupational Therapy services. Regular visits from therapy animals are arranged to support the well-being of our residents.

We kindly ask visitors to seek permission from residents before entering their rooms and to maintain a courteous and considerate demeanor throughout their visit.

Religious Services – Nurturing the Spirit
We understand the importance of spiritual well-being. Residents are welcome to attend religious services, masses, or liturgies in our prayer room.
For those unable to attend, we can make arrangements for visits from priests or other religious individuals to provide spiritual support. Our prayer room, located in C Wing’s northwestern corner, is dedicated to Orthodox and Catholic services on a regular basis.

Hellenic Community Aged Care fosters an engaging community with daily activities for social, physical, and mental well-being. Our monthly calendar includes informative sessions, recreational events, and celebrations with performances and outings, all supervised for resident safety.

Resident Services & Amenities
Alcohol – Enjoyment in Moderation
With your doctor’s approval, you may enjoy alcohol in moderation. For safety, all alcoholic beverages must be stored at the nurse’s station.
Cleaning and Maintenance of Rooms
Residents are encouraged to keep their rooms tidy and comfortable. Our staff provide cleaning and bed-making services, while regular maintenance ensures a safe environment. Please consult management before making any room alterations.
Clothing
We provide free laundry services for all residents and recommend having enough clothing for weekly laundering.
Please label all items, including clothing, blankets, towels, and bedspreads. Non-removable name tags are available at reception.
Funeral Arrangements
We recognise the importance of funeral arrangements and recording your wishes.
Our team provides support and a standard form to ensure your preferences are respected.
Hairdressing
Personal grooming and style are important to us.
A professional hairdresser visits weekly, offering tailored services. Appointments can be booked at reception, with costs billed directly to the resident’s account.
Newspaper
Residents can arrange newspaper delivery through Dianella Heights Newsagency at their own cost, ensuring access to the latest news and information.
Social Leave
Residents are encouraged to stay connected with family and friends and are entitled to 52 days of social leave per financial year, with the government subsidy covering this period.
Absences beyond 52 days will incur the full room cost. Please inform care staff of your departure and return time. Reception is available for further assistance.
Overnight Visitors
Overnight accommodation for visitors is unavailable, but in exceptional circumstances, our staff will assist in finding suitable solutions.
Visitors are welcome at reasonable times, with no limit on numbers if resident well-being is respected. Visits should take place in rooms or lounge areas, especially during meals.
For larger groups, the Sunshine Room (A Wing) and lounge (D Wing) offer tea, coffee, and a microwave. Hellenic Aged Care provides a community that values comfort, privacy, and connection.
